December... The shovel continues to receive attention, the motor continues to be polished to remove almost all trace of thirty plus years of road dirt and use. Bolts of all length, thread and condition are being replaced by stainless, bearings are removed and seals replaced. The brick of a brake assembly has been serviced and fitted and despite the cleaning is now covered in oily finger prints having mounted it for alignment!! Oh hum back to the polishing wheel at some point.

The tins are being primed and await the colour before being clear coated. I am way off for these to be on the critical path and am in no rush, but would love to see the completed fenders and tank halves. The chrome swinging arm and chrome laced back wheel have been installed and as such it now has a semi complete rear end. Nothing is torqued down yet as I need to see how it looks before I finally ‘lock’ it down. I am trying to pay very close attention to the details, it will not be a concourse bike, I do not want that, but rather I want to create a look of the year (1980) but with a cared for feel with a twist.
